Seven Pounds tries a little to hard for its own good. What starts out as a dull affair soon transcends into an emotionally manipulative one. Will Smith seems like he is trying just a little too hard in portraying the character of Ben Howard. The end of the movie is realized ten minutes into the movie thus there never was anything to keep one interested in this affair.
